Weymouth Market
The Swannery Car Park, which is just a two-minute
walk from us here at the Sun Inn, is transformed each Thursday,
(except in winter) when Weymouth holds its traditional outdoor
market on the site.
As one of the largest summer markets on the South Coast, Weymouth
Market draws in shoppers from the surrounding towns and villages,
who still enjoy the experience of the traditional market.
With clothing stalls doing a brisk trade and many household
goods on sale there really are plenty of bargains to be found.
Fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetable stalls continue to serve
the local community and offer value-for-money goods.
The atmosphere is just the same as it was in days gone by
with the stallholders still cracking the jokes as they vie
for the attention of the shoppers, who enjoy not only the
repartee but also the whole experience of market shopping. |
